Money Muscles Need a New Blueprint
Drawing up a budget no matter how good will never work if your money blueprint isn’t wired for it. The practical side of managing your money, from saving it to making it grow just will not happen if what you put on paper is not in harmony with what is in your psyche. So before we begin with the basics such as how to get rid of debt, how to save, how make your money grow, an exercise of a different sort needs to be done.
The way to build up your money muscles is to make a new money blueprint. You need to understand who you are and what your relationship with money is.
I have a history of wealth being snatched away. My grandparents on both my mom’s and dad’s side were wealthy. They were Russians living in the waning years of the Tsar’s rule. The Tsar lost his country and his life. My grandparents lost their country, all that they owned, but fortunately were spared their life. They fled to China, rebuilt their life and once again enjoyed success. All was lost again as grandfather recognized the signs of advancing communism. Next stop: Japan. Enough time to get a business up and running only to have it all flattened, literally, by World War II and the bombing of Yokohama. Eventually I came to Canada, married, raised a family. We achieved a comfortable life when something zigged when it should have zagged. Now I’m all for family traditions, but as traditions go, this one sucked!
Now, as I said in my previous posting, I am going to assume that you are here because you want to build some strong money muscles, because right now you are not where you want to be when it comes to money.
The first step is to start working on the money muscles is redrawing your blueprint. You have to face the demon dragon that is your relationship with money and you have to slay
that dragon so that you build a better life. It does not happen overnight, but over time you will have designed a different you when it comes to money.
In his book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker addresses this very topic. He talks about the four realms of existence that we live in: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. What escapes most is that the physical is a mere printout of the other three, and how you can’t change what that printout looks like unless you change what drives it, in other words, your mental, emotional and spiritual self.
I picked up the book, read it again, and again. Its quite dog eared now, but I still like to pick it up every so often, not just as a refresher, but its amazing how I somehow pick something up that I may have missed before. I strongly recommend that you get yourself a copy of the book and read it. It will put you on the right path to redrawing your money blueprint. You will start to think differently.
Money Blueprint
What is your money blueprint? Do you manage money well? Does money flow to you with ease? Do you have more than enough and are you building a nest egg that will serve you well in the future? If yes, then you are blessed and this blog is not for you.
But if earning every penny seems like an endless struggle and you find yourself too often in that ugly place of too much month left at the end of the money, then you’ve got to come here, to the gym, and build strong money muscles and turn your life around.
In this blog we will learn how to establish a new money blueprint – one that ensures that we manage our money well, no matter how little we have of it and how, by managing our money well we can live life well.
Everything in life is a decision that you make and you can make a decision to be financially secure, wealthy, even rich if that is what you want. You can begin your journey today by taking that first step to building a strong financial foundation. That first step is simple, it is simply this: DECIDE
Decide that you want a better life. That’s easy. Everyone wants a better life! The question that follows is are you willing to do what it takes? Everything we do has a cost – what cost are you willing to pay to never again worry about money?
There are practical steps we need to take and then there is the inner self examination to understand why we do what we do and what we can do about it. You see, we formed our life pattern early on in our years. By age six the patterning was beginning to set, by twelve it was a blueprint for life and you know what a blueprint for life is, it’s a blueprint for how we are to live our life. Have you ever noticed how the same type of situations keep cropping up in your life? How just when you have a little bit of bank account built up WHAM! Some crisis comes up and takes it all away from you – again. It might be about money, or health or relationships. But it keeps happening.
It doesn’t have to be that way. You can change your blueprint to the one you want and live a life of abundance – the life you were given to live.
